Mark Fink
Project Manager
Mark joined the team at Barbizon Lighting - Capitol in 2001 as a Project Manager and was promoted to the position of Middle-Atlantic Business Development Director in July of 2018. In between his work for the Systems Division at Barbizon Lighting – Capitol also included positions as a Systems Integrator and Systems Division Manager. Before joining Barbizon he worked in local, professional theatre and event production as a Technical Director, Production Manager, Lighting Designer/ Director, and Sound Designer. In this new role, his focus is on developing and maintaining Barbizon’s connections within the larger Architecture, Engineering, and Lighting community as well as project development.
His deep technical background and direct experience across the full range of Barbizon’s work ensures an understanding of the requirements of Client’s projects. In his time at Barbizon he has provided Project Management and Systems Integration for some of Barbizon's largest projects encompassing every type of technology Barbizon provides. These include the historic Paramount Theatre in Charlottesville, VA and the Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington, DC; television studios for Alhurra and Aljazeera; the recently closed Newseum; and both the original and new Spy Museums. His experience with control systems and fixtures, combined with a willingness to assist clients in development of their ideas has led to less traditional applications of Barbizon’s capabilities on projects such as demonstration and training facilities for defense contractors, LED conversion projects for architectural spaces, and public artwork projects.
He is a member of the Museum and Art Gallery Lighting and the Assembly and Performance Lighting Committees of IESNA where he has assisted with recent updates to both RP-30 and RP-41. Mark holds a BA in Theatre from the University of Maryland College Park and lives in Baltimore, MD.
