Rebecca Rainer has been involved in the lighting industry for over 39 years. Starting her career with Westinghouse Lighting in Vicksburg, Mississippi in 1981, then worked with Cooper Lighting and Eaton, currently now Cooper Lighting Solutions. She has served in many roles throughout her career including positions in warranty services; quality assurance; sales; marketing; engineering; new product development; and codes and standards. In the mid 1990s, Rebecca became involved with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and served as the Eaton representative in the Lighting Systems Division for the past 20+ years. Her work involved working closely in the regulatory and legislative environment to ensure the industry’s voice was heard. In addition to working closely with NEMA and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), she is also engaged with utilities and other interested parties to ensure smart and sensible codes and standards are enacted. Rebecca is a frequent speaker at various venues including Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), American Public Power Association (APPA), Electric Utility Outdoor Lighting Council (EEUOLC) and other organizations.

Rebecca Rainer has served as the Chair of ANSI C136 committee for six years. She is also the past Chair of the NEMA Lighting Systems Division and NEMA Management Committee.
